Kidde plc acquired by United Technologies Corporation.
United Technologies Corporation (UTC) acquired Kidde plc in a transaction that closed on April 1, 2005. Within the UTC organization
Kidde will become part of Hamilton Sundstrand.
UTC, the parent of Hamilton Sundstrand, is a $37 billion business that includes Pratt & Whitney aircraft engines, Sikorsky helicopters,
Otis elevators and Carrier air conditioners.
The acquisition by UTC is extremely positive for Kidde. We will now be part of a larger global corporation, with all of the resources, expertise
and knowledge that comes with that. Hamilton Sundstrand is a leading provider of highly engineered products and integrated systems for
aerospace and industrial customers. It had 2004 revenues of $3.9 billion, and has facilities, employees and customers around the globe.
